We can provide workshops for maintenance engineers on certified methods of bearing installation and removal, handling, re-lubrication and condition monitoring.

Life Extension Programme

For large bore products a life extension programme is available. This certified repair is carried out by The Timken Company. There are four stages of repair available:

Type I Clean, disassemble and inspect all components. Provide inspection report. Reassemble and repackage as new.

Type II All of Type I, plus polishing of every component.

Type III All of Type I and II, plus all raceways are reground and new rollers are used in the bearing assembly. The cage is cleaned and modified as necessary for new rollers. Pin type cages and other components are replaced (if applicable). All bearings repaired at Type III level carry the same warranty as a new bearing.

Type IV This repair includes Type III plus one major component replacement. In cases where races are reground, a warranty is offered because the bearing is considered new.
